    Notes:

  • Asthma:
    • Dx
      • Right Yang Wei is pounding
      • Right (and/or left) Cun will have a short (pentip) pulse – phlegm block in the lung
      • Ren 22 warm – inflammation in the lung
    • Rx
      • Ding Chuan Tang 50 (If lot’s of wheezing)
      • Sang Bai Pi 10-15. Ting Li Zi 10-15, Yu Xing Cao 10-15, Di Long 20, Astrigents 20 (If coughing)
  • Bronchitis
    • Dx
      • Right Yang Wei is thin &wiry and Ren 22 is usually cold, it’s bronchitis from a cold nature
    • Rx
      • Dun Sou San 30-40
      • Zi Wan 10-15
      • Bai Bu 10-15
      • If lot’s of phlegm: Xiao Qing Long Tang 20
      • Astrigents 20
      • If tightness in chest: Jie Geng
      • If the right Yang Wei is thin, but on top of a blocked pulse: Xue Fu Zhu Yu Tang, Di Long

      • Right Yang Wei: wiry, strong, not very thin

        • Cang Er San 20-30 (nose and cheeks warm)

  • Autoimmune Diseases e.g. RA, PMR, Crohn’s disease, Ulcerative colitis Lupus, Sjogrens syndrome:
    • Dx
    • Pulses are all pounding (very strong pulse force)
      • Deep & pounding – Damp Heat with Blood Stasis
      • Or superficial & pounding – Excess Fire
      • Body is immune system is fighting

  • Additional herbal information:
    • Simply clear the heat with auto-immune diseases (Heat diseases)
    • Eg Huang Lian
    • Long Dan Cao
    • Seattle 1 or Gardenia Complex clear heat in all 3 burners
    • Sheng Di Huang and Xuan Shen – for heat in the blood

    Notes:

  • Different from autoimmune disease, which are usually deep and pounding
  • Raynaud’s pxs usually have thin pulses with a blocked and/or weak pulse
  • Rx
    • Vasodialators
      • Chuan Xiong 15

      • Dang Gui Si Ni Tang 30
      • Shui Zhi 10 (strongly breaks up blood stasis in the small blood vessel)
      • Tian Wang Bu Xin Dan (if heart weak) 15
      • Dan Shen 15
      • Ye Jiao Teng, Yan Hu Suo, He Huan Pi (if anxious) 15
      • Mao Dong Qing 15
      • San Leng 15
      • If sluggish to respond replace Dang Gui Si Ni Tang for Si Ni Tang

    Notes:

  • 3 different types of pulses
    • 1. Weak right Guan

  • 1. Weak right Guan – Small Pulse (weak digestion)

      • Xiang Sha Liu Jun Zi Tang 30 or

      • Xiao Yao San 30 (if there is wiriness to it, liver invading the stomach on top of weakness)
